Simone Campedelli Returns to ERC at Rally di Roma Capitale with Orange1 Racing and a Mission to Protect Nature

Orange1 Racing reinforces its environmental vision with the “Nature Drives Us” initiative, supporting reforestation in Abruzzo

July 1, 2025 – Rome, Italy – For the highly anticipated 2025 FIA European Rally Championship round at the Rally di Roma Capitale, Simone Campedelli is back in action — and he’s bringing with him more than just horsepower. In collaboration with Orange1 Racing, Campedelli will not only fight for a top result on home ground, but also shine a spotlight on environmental responsibility through the Nature Drives Us campaign.

The initiative, driven by Orange1 Rally, the racing division of Orange1 Racing, is rooted in a meaningful partnership with Piantando and its Silva Project — a forest restoration plan set in the municipality of Tollo, in the Valle del Foro, Abruzzo. This area is officially listed as prone to hydrogeological risk by Italy’s Ministry of the Environment.

As part of the program, Orange1 Rally has pledged to adopt 100 mature trees to help offset carbon emissions generated during the rally weekend — particularly during the spectacular Super Special Stage of Rally di Roma Capitale.

“Through Silva, we are helping to revitalize land impacted by unsustainable agricultural practices,” explains Orange1 Racing. “Reforestation brings back biodiversity, stabilizes ecosystems, and raises environmental awareness at a local level.”
The team’s environmental mission is further emphasized through the striking custom livery of Campedelli’s Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. One side of the car showcases melting glaciers—a stark symbol of the climate crisis—while the other side displays a lush forest, representing regeneration, sustainability, and hope. The roof acts as a visual bridge between both worlds: a clear, blue sky, symbolizing the future Orange1 is working toward.

In a thoughtful touch, the crew’s racewear reflects the livery theme. Campedelli will wear a blue suit, representing fragile polar environments, and Tania Canton, his co-driver, will wear green, symbolizing flourishing ecosystems.

“It’s a powerful message,” says Campedelli. “We’re proud to use our presence in the ERC 2025 to advocate for climate action. With Orange1 Racing, we’re showing that motorsport can — and should — lead by example.”
This environmental focus follows the impactful Orange1 For Women campaign introduced during the previous ERC season, which promoted gender equality and women’s representation in motorsport. Now, with “Nature Drives Us,” Orange1 Racing is expanding its vision to include sustainable innovation in rallying.
